I met my husband in 1993 while working in Las Colinas. We went to lunch several times a month at Via Reál on MacArthur Boulevard. Who knew we would get married ten years later and live in McKinney?
Well, we decided to go there to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary and we were delighted with the menu selections. We actually had vegan choices! Via Reál is quite a drive from McKinney but it was worth the trip.
In my opinion, Via Reál is an upscale, fine dining experience. It is nice to find a great place to dine that has great food! They also had an extensive list of wine, beer and cocktails! I had never been there for dinner before, only lunch. They have a lighter lunch menu available!
They had several vegan choices including soup, enchilada’s, nachos and quesadilla’s to choose from. Frankly it was difficult to make a decision.
We had the veggie fajita’s and a salad and the fajita’s were the best I’ve had anywhere. It was quite an array of grilled vegetables and was very flavorful!
Since it was our anniversary, the waiter brought us a chocolate cake. We had to give it a try and were surprised by the cherry glaze on the cake. It tasted very much like chocolate covered cherries. 
This is not Tex-Mex. It is a lighter, healthier style of Mexican food that we very much appreciated.
Naturally they have non-vegan fare. They had a filet mignon they seared tableside that was quite a show. If I had not been vegan, I would have tried the ceviche or the Adobo Shrimp over crab and spinach enchiladas!
They were very Covid-19 savvy. As a matter of fact, we were the only patron’s in one room to ourselves. The staff was super friendly!
I plan to work with the social director and get them certified with Plant Pure for having vegan fare. They already meet the criteria!
