If Covid put a wrench in your health, you are in good company. It put an absolute stranglehold on ours and we caught it twice!
For probably the last 2-3 years, I have gained and lost the same 10 pounds, I don’t know if I am coming or going.
My husband reached the highest weight he has ever been. Why? 
Covid made both of us weak and fatigues. As a result, we were dining out frequently. We would also order out or bring things home. It’s easier. 
Not better, but easier.
It is also not the least bit plant based even if you try! Restauranteurs simply don’t know how to make whole, plant-based food!
Not being compliant really took a toll on our health and we find ourselves back where we were before we went plant based in 2017.

What is Metabolic Syndrome?

You see, you develop what is known as metabolic syndrome. This is the precursor for nearly all of the major diseases today. Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, liver disease… ! Actually Metabolic syndrome IS liver disease. The liver just cannot process the fat anymore. 
You end up with high cholesterol and high triglycerides. You have fat in your blood because the liver just can’t process anymore. 
Your liver has tucked away some pretty toxic stuff in its cells and they are locked like the final resting place of the ark of the covenant. 
It literally can’t accept anymore.
Fat, sugar and toxins spill into your blood and the kidneys and other organs have to take over. 
Eventually the nervous system and brain are affected. 
Opps sorry. Tangent! You get the idea!
The point of this article is, we finally broke through the metabolic syndrome and started seeing weight loss! 

What did we do?

We got back on the Snap Pea Sheep diet of 2017!
The last three months, we have cut down greatly on meat and dairy. Harry stepped up his steps, literally, and dropped 35 pounds!
I dropped about two over three months.
Going out to dinner somewhere would put back 3-5 pounds overnight.

The month of May!

Most of May, we prepared meals at home with a few exceptions. This last week we completely eliminated alcohol.
We aren’t at the end of the month yet and I am really resisting the urge to go to Christina’s Mexican restaurant tonight but –
today marks a milestone.
35 pounds for Harry and 10 for me. Remember, he started three months ago.
