.…….because eating meat is b-a-a-a-d!
Snap Pea Sheep is here to help people transition to a predominately whole food, plant based (WFPB) lifestyle that encompasses the Mediterranean and Blue zones diet and way of life.
A Snap Pea Sheep lifestyle!
Whatever your reason for adopting this lifestyle, transition can be a challenge on many levels! People may not know where to start and it’s too easy to quit! This lifestyle is about developing habits to have a better well-being as well as making healthier food choices!
If you find it too difficult, make the wisest choices you can when you just can’t be plant based. Aim for plant based 95% of the time and relax when you are with family and friends. If no one in your family wants to eat this way, downplay the animal protein and increase the plant food. Both Mediterranean and Blue Zones have some animal protein. They just don’t build the diet around it.
At Snap Pea Sheep you will find posts about WFPB living, kitchen tips, transition tips, and reviews on books, products and compliant restaurants. You will want to look at these at my Baa-Baa-Blog!
WFPB can’t be just about eating boring vegetables and fruits, it has to be mouth watering!
Find my inspiring WFPB recipes on my Baa Baa Recipe page.
We transitioned to a WFPB lifestyle and call it “Living The Sheep”!
While I’ve found a lot of support groups for WFPB living, there were groups that allowed no room for error and were a little harsh with people who were struggling to start! Who needs the judgement?
Some people can transition overnight but for some it is a dramatic change! Everyone has to deal with addictions, cravings, social issues, routine changes, food restrictions.
It can be overwhelming.
Meat and dairy are in literally every course of every meal of the day. Apparently, protein is believed to be animal only! What do you eat instead?
How do you get your family on board? What about your kids?
We at Snap Pea Sheep realize that someone may have to take steps to transition slowly to being 100% compliant! Most of the time I am 100% but I don’t beat myself up for days that I’m not. You shouldn’t either! Even 50% is better than nothing!
As of 2024, we are embracing the Mediterranean diet and the Blue Zone lifestyle. See my article on Blue Zones here. It’s easy enough to find plant-based recipes with these diets and lifestyle. The important thing is to find clean whole food.
Being WFPB is not just a diet, it is a lifestyle!
No judging here! The important thing is to not give up!

……..…….because eating meat is b-a-a-a-d!
I have been asked this so much that I added it to my F&Q. You can find this on my Home page on the left side links.
Actually I have thought about having a guest blogger, but I could also guest blog on someone else’s site.
I recently heard from someone who had heart surgery after being WFPB for several years. Some people are not getting expected results from their diet change and they are very puzzled. My article on what to expect from a wfpb diet is a great read!
Start up can be costly. I started attempting to develop a site over 3 years ago not knowing what I was doing. I spent a lot of money and was getting nowhere. I finally started taking WordPress web design classes from Christina Hills. I use WordPress.org, the Divi Extra theme by Elegant Themes, the Ultimate Recipe Plug-in by Bootstrapped Ventures, Go-Daddy for my domain, Blue Host for my host, Yoast for my SEO and Updraft Plus for my backup. There are costs associated with all of these services. I make no money from my site. Once I have enough recipes, I intend to create some e-books but it will barely offset the cost. I am doing SnapPeaSheep to share my story and help people.
Thank you. I have a whole page on products I recommend. Forks Over Knives, MacDougall, Plant Pure Communities, plus all of the books and cookbooks on my product page. Enjoy!
My stories are based on personal experience and observations. I’ve been WFPB for over three years but trued to follow a healthy non-vegan diet prior to that. I think going WFPB saved my life. It will not solve all health problems but it can help.
I like what you guys are up also. Such smart work and reporting! Carry on the excellent works guys I’ve incorporated you guys to my blogroll. I think it’ll improve the value of my web site 🙂
My website content is based on my own experience. When I post information from other sites, I believe it to be true and try to create multiple references. I call this a transition site because it is very difficult to do this lifestyle 24-7/ If you stray from it when life gets in the way, you shouldn’t get beat up for it!
I did create Snappeasheep by myself. I have almost 40 years as a programmer for Legacy systems and 3 years in Sharepoint web design. I took classes from Christina Hills WordPress Web design workshop. She seems expensive but she actually saved me a LOT of money!
I used the Divi Extra theme by Elegant Themes but if I had to do over I would use Pure and Simple, or something easier and free. Divi is great but there is a huge learning curve and it is NOT intuitive at all. I use Ultimate Recipe Maker plug in by Boot Strapped Ventures for my recipes. I use Blue Host and this site is written in WordPress.ORG. I used GoDaddy to register my domain. Be aware that with the domain registration, host, word press, SEO, backup space, etc., you could end up spending several hundred a year keeping your blog going.
Good luck.
Hello Connie. I have found a few canned chili’s. I prefer fresh made as well as many of the canned versions have msg’s, sugar, soybean oil or “natural ingredients”. I have a very quick chili I make with canned beans. It is easy but time consuming to make beans from scratch. My suggestion would be to make chili beans from dried beans and freeze batches from what I can’t use.
This is a fast chili.
Thank you. Glad you enjoy.
There are plug-ins you can choose depending on what platform you decided to use for your site. Once you open comments though, you have the right to reply, approve, reply, edit, or trash comments. However you have no control of what anyone puts in those comments. That is one reason I don’t just open my site and let people blog or share recipes on my site.
You have given my a great idea to conduct zoom calls on the weekend. It seems people would appreciate a question and answer session and ability to communicate. I do have a public Facebook page where you can comment or ask questions.
Thank you for your commentary and I am glad you enjoy my site.

Thank you. I am glad you enjoy. I don’t have any help with my articles so far, it is based on personal experience. However, I research a lot and provide links to back me up.
Thank you. I actually have videos in progress. I have full control on my website hosted by Bluehost. However for Search Engine purposes, it makes sense to have both outside and internal links to be picked up by the search engines. As I try to include references, it makes sense they should be the source of my links.
Hello from SnapPeaSheep. prior to my building my website, I had 38 years in experience as a programmer, analyst and manager. I created Share Point websites the last 3 years of my Career. Saying that, I didn’t rely much on my technical expertise to create my website. However it was a huge earning curb for me. I had to learn how to format my media, write a page, write a post, get the domain, find the host, pic a theme and design my site, maintain my site, then turn on the search engines. My website is about 2 years old now with 6 months of prep in a “test” environment with no SEO.
I took classes from Christina Hills. The main one being her Website creation Workshop: Website Creation Workshop
I am still taking her Create Your Course, and Workshop Marketing Class. Her Create your own graphics was a good class too.
Her classes are not cheap, but if take the class you could have something up and running on your own in 6 months or less, depending on the theme you choose. If you only want a blog, It might only take a month or so.
Her classes are not cheap but she offers a payment plan. However if you rely on someone else to build you site, you are forever at their mercy to maintain and update your site.
My recommendation, do NOT use the Divi or Divi Extra theme. Divi makes a beautiful and diverse website but it was a huge learning curb that added months to my development. Find something easier like Pure and Simple. You can see these on WordPress.com.
Also develop in WordPress.org even if your website will be a dot.com.
Be warned, the deveopment site (WordPress), host, domain, SEO and backup services all have an annual cost. I also have DropBox for my media.
Thank you, I am glad you enjoy my site. I will look at cravefreebies.com as well.
Thank you. My research is related to my own experience as I try to regain my own health.
You can add questions about SnapPea Sheep to this blog page: https://snappeasheep.com/commentary-and-questions/.
SnapPeaSheep has been a registered domain name since 2018. I will reach out to my domain licence provider to ensure everything is ok. Thank you for the heads up.
Thank you so much, I am glad you enjoy.
Thank you so much, I am glad you enjoy.
Thank you. I do everything for this site. The food photos and recipes are all mine, made in my kitchen. The website is built in WordPress.org using the DIVI Extra theme. I write all of the articles and look for research links to back up my findings.
Yes, Just put a link back to my website.
This lifestyle is working for me, it might not be for everyone. I have plenty of science to back up a WFPB diet. It is always going to be controversial because big food would have their profits to consider.
There is a comment post under Baa Baa blog where anyone can out questions or comments.
I use Blue host.
Presently I am not selling anything. I created a lot of content before adding any SEO. I will keep you in mind.
Thank you so much, I am glad you enjoy. I will try to add more content as well.
You could definitely see your skills within the work you write. The sector hopes for even more passionate writers like you who aren’t afraid to say how they believe. All the time go after your heart.
Thank you. This is certainly my story. I think a whole food plant based diet is the way to go.
Hello Fahad. I have no products on my site to sell. I do offer counseling to anyone who may be interested in a whole food, plant based diet and lifestyle. The cost depends on how much counseling the client desires.
SO glad you are enjoying my website. Live the Sheep!
You caught me! I am a self taught web developer and didn’t even start turning SEO On until recently. I would say only 5% of the posts on my site have a good SEO rating. However, I am trying to move forward with ideas that will turn this site into a career. At the same time I am correcting older posts to be SEO compliant. I will check out your pricelist thought wen I need to rely heavier on traffic to my site (like when I can be profitable).
When I saw what a whole food, plant based diet did for me, I wanted to share what I learned. If I can inspire anyone and make a difference in their lives, it makes me very happy!
Hi Dave. Currently I am not even selling anything to market. I have e-books and videos in the works. However I am the one making these meals, recipes and the photos. I am also the website and media developer, copywriter, editor and SEO manager so it is a slow go.
I will keep you in mind though. So glad you like my site.
I use Bluehost. Generally around Christmas and June they have sales but their prices are pretty good.
They service is good too. I don’t recall ever losing Bluehost service. Internet, yes. Host no. This website is a WordPress.org site. WordPress has a tendency to be faster too.
Thank you. Please, check out my recipes! I try to think out of the box.
You are welcome. I am glad you enjoy t.
That is a good idea, thank you!
Welcome. I hope you find things of interest on my site.
Thank you so much!
Good observation. We have poison toxins in the air, water, earth (including our vegetation), everything we eat and even the wifi waves around us. The body isn’t equipped to fight all of these toxins. You might read my article about what to expect with a WFPB diet. Check the Baa-baa-blog page.
Thank you so much! Once I started my journey back to health, I realized there were a lot of people trying to do the same thing. Many seem frustrated because they are not showing any progress. Sometimes it takes more than just diet.
